In the case of Roxana and Nikki Larance the apple didn’t fall far from the tree - making ManeGait and its riders twice as blessed! Mom Roxana has been around horses most of her life and often dreamed of combining her love for horses and children. Since ManeGait came along, Roxana has been working in the office and with riders regularly. She says, “I do it all out here. I love being in the office, cleaning out the buckets and working in the barn. But once you have a rider to work with, you know the meaning of why you are here.”

She enjoyed it so much that she was able to convince her daughter, Nikki, to volunteer as well – even though she was initially afraid to be around horses. Now, Nikki looks forward to the time she gets to spend with Ryan – a ManeGait rider and Freckles – one of ManeGait’s most popular ‘physical therapists!’

Nikki and Roxana say ManeGait is a peaceful place they can share together. And they’re not alone. Look at all the other mother/daughter volunteer teams with which ManeGait has been blessed:
