Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor

ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship, a beautiful and professional PATH Premier Accredited Center in McKinney, Texas, (www.manegait.org) has a position open for a part- time certified instructor. Duties will include teaching, assisting with horse acquisition and schooling programs. Candidate must be a PATH Intl certified instructor, possess excellent people skills, have commendable horsemanship expertise, be an engaging team player, with horse show experience. Grant Writer
Part-Time Contract

ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship, a PATH Premier Accredited Center in McKinney, Texas, (www.manegait.org) has a contract position for a Grant Writer. The scope of services needed are researching grant prospects, advising ManeGait on ones to approach, working with staff to interpret guidelines, gathering material and information for effective proposals and writing grant proposals and preparing for submission. An average of 10 grants per month will be the expectation.

Requirements include impeccable writing skills, ability to be succinct, creative and persuasive, resulting in effective grant proposals. ManeGait’s grant writer will possess stellar researching skills to determine funding opportunities. This person must be organized and able to track responses and prepare reports for the Program Director and the Board of Directors. The Grant Writer must be comfortable making initial and follow up contact with potential funders. A successful tract record of grant writing is crucial. Development Department Internship

Position Reports to: Marketing & Development Manager, Jennifer Wisler

Purpose: The Development Internship will provide valuable experience and education in the areas of Non-Profit Management, Fund Raising, Public Relations, and Marketing, as they relate to a 501 C-3 organization, and specifically a Therapeutic Horsemanship program.

Duties Include (but not limited to) Assisting with:

  • The development of surveys, measurements, and metrics to use in evaluation of the program as well as in funding proposals
  • Donor acknowledgements
  • Compiling of grant proposal information
  • Foundation research
  • Creating and enhancing an online presence for ManeGait through social media and websites such as Donor Bridge, GuideStar and iParticipate.org
  • The creation of the Annual Report and the quarterly newsletter
  • Fundraisers
  • PR efforts
  • Miscellaneous Administrative Duties

The 6 areas of focus to choose from for an internship include:
1. Therapeutic Riding Instructor Internship
2. Non-Profit Management Internship
3. Volunteer Management Internship
4. Marketing and Development Internship
5. Equine Management Internship
6. Combination of any of the above

ManeGait Internships are formatted to meet the student’s individual goals and objectives. Internships are unpaid, but interns are paired with host families so that housing is provided. We can accommodate most time frames and lengths of internship that best fits the intern’s needs and requirements.
